What began as a simple snowshoe loaner program for local schools has grown into a national program devoted to providing on-snow winter ecology field trips to schools across the country. SnowSchool is now the largest national program devoted to on-snow winter ecology field trips for elementary school students. By providing snowshoes, a curriculum, and a structure to schools, and then linking the schools with a nearby public land manager, SnowSchool brings the snow into the classroom and the class into the snow.
