Ideas For Traditional Games
(Grades 3-8)
You should be able to adapt the games below for snowy conditions and the use of snowshoes:
- Softball - Paint the ball a dark color for better visibility.
- Flag Football - Use long flags so the kids don't step on each other.
- Volleyball - Use a beach ball to avoid injury to cold hands.
- Flying Disk Tag - Run with the disk until tagged, then throw it.
- Swedish Kickball - With a throw instead of kick.
- Rugby Tag - Two teams, touch only.
- Flying Disk Golf - Use bright colored hoops for the holes.
- Dodge Ball - Use a large playing field and ball.
- Scavenger Hunt - Have teams find hidden markers.
