Grizzly Across the Woods
(Grades K-3)

Equipment needed:
  • A tied-up towel or foam ball for tagging
Directions:
Designate an area to be the woods with towns on either side. Divide the class into grizzlies and town's people. At the signal, the townspeople must try to cross the woods to the other town. Grizzlies start with the the ball. They try to tag the townspeople by throwing the ball at them. Anyone can pick up the ball. Townspeople can tag grizzlies. If a person is tagged by a grizzly, they have to exit the woods and go around the boundaries and enter back into a city at a designated area. Grizzlies go out an around to enter the woods at a designated area.

Safety:
Taggers need to tag gently. Emphasize looking where you are going while being pursued by tagger.
